Trillian Astra's new user interface is too heavy and its social networking integration falls a little bit short of the Digsby experience. My test of the new beta has left me with mixed feelings, but the program has unmistakable potential. I tested Trillian Astra alongside Digsby to see how the two compare. The company has also started to seriously ramp up its beta program and has opened it to virtually all users who have requested entry.
